Third and fourth genders are quite common in Indigenous communities. Should we begin to do work in those communities, we believe it’s important that we start now in creating an inclusive and equitable environment at Nia Tero by identifying our gender pronouns. By providing an opportunity for people to share their pronouns, we are practicing not assuming what someone’s gender identity is or what pronouns they use by just looking at them.
